Taped Story (ages 4-10)

This is a good activity for your child to do on a rainy day.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Tape recorder
• Child’s favorite picture book

Here’s what you do:

1. Have him read a story that he knows well into a tape recorder.
2. He can play it back and listen to the story himself, or have another family member listen to it.
3. He can also read the same story with different expressions into the tape recorder.

Picture book suggestion:

• Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain: A Nandi Tale

  Publisher: Houghton Mifflin
