House Rules (ages 3-18)

Here’s what you’ll need:

Here’s what you do:

  1. On the top of a piece of construction paper ask your child to write, “(Your last name)’s House Rules”.
  2. Gather the entire family together and explain to them that they are going to develop a list of rules that will be good for everyone in the family.
  3. As your family agrees to a rule that everyone should follow, let your child write the letters and words for that rule on the construction paper under the title.
  4. After the list is done, discuss the following questions with your family:
    • What should the consequences be for breaking a rule?
    • Why are the rules important?
    • What would happen in our house if there were no rules?
    • Put your home rules in a place where everyone can see it.
