Cut a large circle out using the white construction paper.
Let your child draw his face on the circle and let him color it to match his complexion.
Cut the yarn to match the length of your child’s hair and glue it onto the face.
Fold lengthwise one end of the other sheet of construction paper into the middle of the sheet.
Fold the opposite end into the middle also. (The ends should touch in the middle.)
Place the construction paper down so that the ends open to the side instead of up and down. This will be the jacket.
Glue the face to the top of the jacket.
On the outside of the jacket, help your child write, “(Your child’s name)’s Winter Jacket”. Open the jacket and write the following:My jacket is ___ and _____.
It has ___ buttons and ____ pockets.
I love my jacket!
Help your child use adjectives to fill in the blanks. When complete, your child’s jacket may read something like this:My jacket is fuzzy and blue.
It has shiny buttons and deep pockets.
I love my jacket!
(Optional) You may wish to glue real buttons on the jacket or add cotton around the edges.
