Ask your child and other family members to write down the most important events in their lives, including the dates on which the events occurred.
Make copies of each person’s special events and bind them into a book for every family member.
Read this book with your child.
Other ideas:
Ask the older members of your family to record true stories of their lives on tape. Make copies of the tape when it is done for all of your family members.
Ask your child to write a letter to himself to be opened when he is 18 years old. Tell him to describe how he thinks he will look at that age and what he will be doing. Put the letter in a special place so he can open it when he turns 18.
