Here’s what you’ll need:
- Paper (several sheets)
- Pencil, markers, crayons, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Yarn
- Hole punch
- One coat hanger
- Glue
Here’s what you do:
- On one piece of paper ask your child to list autumn words, leaving enough space above each word for punching a hole. For example, he may list “Halloween”, “school”, “cool”, and “jacket”.
- When the list is done, cut each word out such that there is space above the word, and punch a hole at the top.
- Tie one end of a piece of yarn in the hole of above each word.
- Tie the other end of the yarn of each word to the bottom of a coat hanger.
- Trace the middle of the coat hanger onto another piece of paper and cut it out. (A little larger than what you traced.)
- Write the word “Fall” on this sheet of paper and glue it back into the middle of the coat hanger.
- Place the mobile where your child can enjoy it.
Other ideas:
- Write “Fall” at the top of a sheet of paper. Ask your child to draw a Fall tree. On a separate sheet of paper, brainstorm a list of autumn words
