Daily Warm-up: BrainPOP

• This is my son’s favorite “movie” Web site!
• Science (we are going in alphabetical order)
• Will’s choice of a subject
• Will lists 5 things he learned for his book, This is How My Brain Grew Today.

Seasonal and Art:

• Finish illustrating Will’s Halloween story

Language and Literature:

• Silent reading: Will’s choice (20 minutes minimum)
• Reading: Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Hound of the Baskervilles (Chapter 6)

Writing: Publish and share Will’s Halloween story

Math:

• “Multiplying Money”, The Complete Book of Math, Grades 5-6 (American Education Publishing), p. 104

Science:

• “Pumpkins Are  Squash” (edHelper.com)

Columbus Day Unit:

• “Columbus Wasn’t First” (TeacherVision.com)

Test Prep:

• ITBS practice test for 5th grade by Bright Education Services and Testing, p. 85-86

Other:

• Games and information at Web sites from Pumpkin Theme Unit
• Leap Pad (practice states, capitals, and body parts)

PE:

• Will’s choice of four activities.
• Will also bowls every Saturday and Sunday.
