Children especially like flashlight stories around Halloween. To read flashlight stories, you simply need to be in a semi-dark room with books and a flashlight. Some children like to read stories with a flashlight under a blanket or under a tent made from blankets, tables, or chairs.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Flashlight
- Blanket
- Chairs or a table (optional)
- Your child’s favorite books
Here’s what you do:
- When the lights are turned down or off, crawl into the tent or under the blanket with your child and turn on the flashlight.
- Shine the flashlight on a book and read it using a lot of expression.
- Take turns reading with your child and encourage him to read using different inflections.
- If you wish, you can check out books about Halloween or the dark (and ones that are not too scary) and read them with the flashlight.
