Here’s what you’ll need:
Here’s what you do:
- Discuss with your child what would happen to the world if no one picked up trash or if all the rain forests were gone.
- Write down the days of the week on a sheet of paper.
- Next to each day, let your child write down something that your family can do to protect trees and keep the earth clean.
- Place this list in a place where the entire family can see it.
- With your child, encourage your family to try to do something every day to keep the earth clean. (Examples: recycling, picking up trash when you go for walks, or riding a bike to a nearby store instead of driving.)
Other ideas:
- Plant a tree with your child.
- Draw a picture of a tree. Label the parts of the tree after the picture is done.
- Talk to your child about the different kinds of animals that live in trees.
- Go outside and admire the trees with your child. Write a story together that begins, “I like trees because…”. Illustrate the story together with your child.
- List ways that your family can save our precious drinking water.
