Ask your children to retell (or put on a play about) Mrs. Wishy-Washy using their stuffed animals in place of the animals in the story.
Write the each character’s “part” on a separate sheet of paper.
Use a pan, bowl, or bucket for the tub.
Other ideas:
Write down words that describe different animals with your child. For example, you could write, “Bunnies have soft fur. Turtles have hard shells. Porcupines have sharp needles.” Write the adjectives, or describing words, in a different color from the rest of the sentence. Draw pictures to match each animal.
Ask your child what his favorite animals are. Next, have him write a story that begins, “I would like to be a ___ because it ____.” Ask your child to illustrate the story.
Make puppets out of worn winter socks and put on a puppet show for your family.
