Here’s what you’ll need:
- One old pan (a cookie sheet works well)
- Shaving cream (generic brands work fine)
Note: Salt, cornmeal, and sand also works well in place of the shaving cream
Here’s what you do:
- Spray some shaving cream into a pan and smooth it out evenly. (I like to place the pan in the refrigerator before hand. This makes the shaving cream feel even more like snow.)
- Call out a letter. Ask your child to say the name of the letter while forming it in the “snow” with his index finger. When he is done, smooth the shaving cream out and start on a new letter.
- If you live in an area where it snows, get bundled up, go outside, and have fun practicing letters in the snow with your child.
