Here’s what you’ll need:
- 26 index cards
- Puffy-paint in pastel colors (the kind that squeezes out of a bottle)
Here’s what you do:
- Make the pastel puffy-paint ABC cards.
- For each letter of the alphabet, write its upper and lower case characters on an index card with puffy-paint. (Make sure the paint is completely dry before the next step.)
- When the paint is dry, ask your child to trace each letter with his index finger while saying the name of the letter. Make sure he is tracing each letter in the direction it would be properly written.
To play the game:
- Mix all the cards up and place them in a pile face-down.
- Turn the top card over (face-up).
- Whoever says the name of the letter first, must give a word that begins with that letter.
- If that person gives a correct answer, he gets to keep the card.
- However, if that person gives an incorrect answer, the card is turned face-down and put in the bottom of the pile.
- The person with the most cards at the end wins the game.
