Jump on Letters! (ages 3-6)

Here’s what you’ll need:

Here’s what you do:

  1. On a nice day, go outside with some thick colored chalk.
  2. Call out a letter and ask your child to write it on the sidewalk or driveway.
  3. Repeat until all of the letters of the alphabet are written in chalk. (The letters should not be written in order.)
  4. To play with the letters and help your child get some wiggles out, say, “Go find the letter ___ and jump up and down on it three times!”
  5. Vary the activity for each letter. For example, you can ask your child to do jumping jacks or stand on one foot on a letter.
