ABC Book (ages 3-10)

When complete, this book is a great resource for a child who is having trouble learning all of the letters. If, for example, a child keeps forgetting the letter “w”, you can get this book out, turn to the “w” page and say, “Look! You know the letter ‘w’. You wrote a whole page on the letter ‘w’. Let’s read this page again.”

Here’s what you’ll need:

Here’s what you do:

  1. Bind the 26 sheets of paper together.
  2. On each sheet, ask your child to write the upper and lower case characters for one letter of the alphabet, starting with the letter “A”.
  3. On the first sheet, ask your child to think of something that starts with the letter “A”. If, for example, he says, “A is for apples,” write: “A a is for apples.”

For example: SANY0502_1

  1. For “B” your child will think of something that describes something special to him that begins with “B”.
    Example:
A a      is for animals.  (Child draws pictures of animals.)
B b      is for bluebonnets. (Child draws pictures of bluebonnets.)
C c      is for calves. (Child draws pictures of calves.)
    .
    .
    .
Z z    is for the zoo. (Child draws pictures of the zoo.)
