Writing Ideas:

  1. If you could make your kite out of anything in the world, what would it be made of? Describe your kite.
  2. If you could make your kite go anywhere, where would it go?
  3. Who made the first kite?
  4. How many kinds of kites can you list or find on the internet?  What is your favorite kind of kite?
  5. Make a book on how to make a kite.
  6. Pretend your kite could fly far, far, away. If you could write a message on this kite, what would it say?
  7. Have you ever flown a kite before? If so, describe the experience.

    I love this activity. It is a very creative way to get children interested in writting. This is a really good activity to do in the summer for the simple fact that the children can relate to it better during the time that they may be flying kits. This can be presented to them before flying a kite in the summer and they can think about how they would answer some of the questions as they are flying a kite.
